New Freestyle GP World Championship Confirmed
A new racing series is coming in 2026 with the Freestyle GP World Cup, which will be succeeded by the official FIM Freestyle GP World Championship in 2027

The FIM has confirmed plans for a new world championship with the Freestyle GP World Cup set to debut in 2026.
The series will perform somewhat of a come and go, as in 2027 the World Cup will then officially be branded as the FIM Freestyle GP World Championship.
The Freestyle GP category will be the first of its kind as a regulated world championship series under the FIM, and backed up by FLY ACTIONS, which is scheduled to be the event promoter.
With 25 years of experience behind them organising national and international events, which include sports such as Motocross, Supercross and Freestyle, as well as cycling more recently, the company FLY ACTIONS will be in charge of constructing next year’s calendar.
The full 2026 schedule has yet to be finalised, however, the 2026 Freestyle GP World Cup will get underway on December 20, 2025, in Pamplona, Spain.
Round two is then scheduled to follow on February 28, 2026, at a venue that’s yet to be confirmed, while the third round will be staged in October 2026 at a European venue that is also unknown.
Jorge Viegas, FIM President, stated: “The FIM is firmly committed to the development of the Freestyle discipline and this championship represents a key step for its international expansion in an official framework.
“We are confident that after a test year of three events in 2026 we will be able to develop it into a world championship that will bring together the best riders in the world in this discipline through a series of events organised on several continents from 2027.”
