Yamaha Tenere 700 goes low in 2024 with new Explore edition
The Yamaha Tenere 700 Explore brings a full touring option to the CP2-powered adventure range, with modifications made to suit long-distance road rides

Sometimes you think that there cannot be another variant of a motorcycle, and the manufacturer invariably proves you wrong.
In truth, the Yamaha Tenere 700 Explore is not an all-new bike, since it was announced in some European markets earlier this year, but like the Yamaha Tenere 700 Extreme that was announced last week, it is only now that the Explore is confirmed to be coming to the UK.
In case you missed it earlier this year, the general gist of the Explore is that it is more geared towards comfort on long-distance tours than other versions of the Tenere 700.
For example, suspension travel in the front and rear KYB units is decreased by 20mm compared to the standard Yamaha Tenere 700 in order to reduce the seat height to 860mm, and the screen has a 50 per cent larger surface area. The retention of, for example, the 21-inch spoked front wheel and knobby tyres, though, means that there is still the capacity for this more touring-spec Tenere to venture off the paved routes.
There are also many additional components included as standard, such as a quickshifter with CP2-specific settings, and side case mounts.
To those mounts there is a choice of luggage, with either soft or hard cases able to be mounted. Whether soft or hard luggage is chosen, they are provided by the Yamaha Genuine Accessories range and come at an additional cost. There will be one choice of colour, a greyed-out ‘Tech Camo’ scheme.
The 2024 Yamaha Tenere 700 Explore will be priced at £10,800 in the UK.
