Jorge Martin to make first Aprilia appearance since surprise statement
Jorge Martin will make his long-awaited MotoGP return, which is only his second of the campaign.

Jorge Martin will be back in action for the first time since suffering an injury setback at the Qatar MotoGP in April, when he races his Aprilia RS-GP25 at the Czech round in Brno this weekend.
But while his return is big news in the world of MotoGP, it’s been made even bigger thanks to the shock rumours that surfaced in May. If you've not been following the story, or should I say drama, reports claimed Martin wanted to leave the team just a few months into the season.
Martin then dropped his own bombshell by confirming in a statement that he had exercised a clause in his contract to end his time with Aprilia. However, that doesn’t mean Martin will definitely leave the Noale-based manufacturer.
What the contract dispute has done has made things unclear as to what Aprilia and Martin will do beyond this season. Although, Aprilia has stuck to its position which is that both parties must honour the contract for 2026.
In fact, rumours in recent days have suggested Martin will see out his contract with Aprilia which ends after the 2026 season.
What’s more surprising about this situation is that Martin has spent very little time riding the Aprilia, which in recent rounds has shown huge potential thanks to Marco Bezzecchi.
Martin’s return will be just his second appearance for Aprilia, and will do so at a circuit (Brno) he’s not competed at on a MotoGP bike before. He comes into the event fresh off a day of testing at Misano last week.
Speaking ahead of the event, Martin said: “I can’t wait to get back on the bike — I’m really happy that this moment has finally arrived. Together with Aprilia we have a lot of work ahead, but we have great potential to do well. Now it’s time to start building and aim for a strong end to the season.”
