Wolverine XS800 announced with huge 360 section rear

The Wolverine XS800 hails from China, and features an 800cc four-valve V-twin and ginormous 360-section rear tyre!

Wolverine-XS800

NO, this isn’t some limited-run custom bike out of a So Cal custom shop, this is the Wolverine XS800, a liquid-cooled cruiser all the way from China!

It’s the latest bike from the Guangdong Jianya Motorcycle Technology Company, and, unlike some of the brand's offerings, it’s actually quite cool looking! It shares an 800cc liquid-cooled V-twin with some other bikes in the GJ range, and while the frame, suspension, and brakes are also likely similar, this bike stands out as the most eye-catching.

It might only put out a claimed 49bhp at 7,000rpm and 43ft-lb of torque, but those numbers are contained by one of the biggest rear tyres we’ve ever seen on a production bike – 360mm in section. To put that sizable girth into perspective, the 2020 Rocket 3, widely regarded as having the widest tyre fitted to a full production bike, wears a 240-section rear hoop. While slotting a 360 section on a bike with less than 50bhp might sound like overkill, well, it probably is, although you can’t deny what it does for the aesthetic of the bike.

The rest of the specs for the Wolverine are fairly tepid, 288kg ready-to-ride, sub-100mph, and a single disc front brake highlighting that this is a bike that puts the show above the go. The Ducati Diavel V4 and Rocket 3 would have surely been quaking in their boots!

No pricing has been announced for the bike as yet, we’ll drop an update on this page if and when that appears!
