New Ola concept electric motorcycles available for reservations

Ola Electric, an Indian manufacturer that has so far limited itself to scooters, is now looking to branch out into electric motorcycles as soon as 2024.

Ola Diamondhead

The Indian manufacturer Ola Electric had unveiled four new conceptual electric motorcycles with proposed launch dates in 2024.

Ola has until now made its name exclusively with electric scooters. Its S1 series offers a neo-retro visual with 125cc levels of performance and the instant torque of an electric motor.

The new concepts from Ola depart from the scooter category and bring what are legitimate motorcycles to the Indian brand’s range, at least prospectively.

There is a supersports bike, a naked, a cruiser, and an adventurer. Only the first has a name - Ola Diamondhead - and none have any technical details published.

All four of the concepts have distinctly futuristic styling. The Diamondhead, for example, has a single-strip headlight which wraps around the front of the fairing. That fairing is also moulded into a kind of ‘over-fairing’ that encases the handlebar and connects to the ‘tank’ section. The bike also seems to feature a front swingarm and hub centre steering, as well as a rear hub motor.

The other, unnamed models have perhaps more conventional looks, but retain a degree of futuristic quality.

Despite the very limited details - which are entirely limited to an early sight of what the bikes might look like - reservations for all four of the new concepts, even the unnamed ones - are open. You can head to the Ola Electric website to find out more, and to browse the company’s two-wheelers that do exist, those being the S1 scooter variants.
