In America, the 2023 model year Kawasaki Z 900 RS has already been revealed in new colours.

It is often said that what happens in American culture is a foreshadowing of that in some of the rest of the world, and in the case of the Kawasaki Z 900 RS the same can be true.

The 2023 Z 900 RS is available to view now on the Kawasaki US website, although the only changes compared to the past are new colours.

On the positive side, that means you know what you’re getting.

A liquid-cooled, 948cc inline four-cylinder motor with 73.4mm x 56mm bore and stroke, 10.8:1 compression ratio, Keihin fuel injection, putting out 111 horsepower and 98Nm.

That engine is powering a retro-styled naked (or cafe racer) with inverted telescopic forks featuring adjustable preload, rebound damping, and compression damping; and a horizontal back-link swingarm. For stopping, you get two 300mm front discs with four-piston callipers, and a 250mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper, as well as ABS.

There is one colour for the 2023 model year Z 900 RS as it is being displayed in the US. That is with a “Metallic Diablo Black” base with “Metallic Imperial Red” around the side of the teardrop-shaped fuel tank. The standard Z 900 RS will retail in the US for $11,949, which equates to around £9,800.

For the Cafe variant, the “Metallic Diablo Black” is accented by gold highlights around the front cowl and along the tank. The Z 900 RS Cafe will retail in the US for $12,399, which equates to around £10,200.
