Honda SFA concept

Small bikes don’t have to be dull

THIS isn’t the first time Honda has shown its SFA concept – it appeared at a show in Indonesia last October – but now it's set to be shown at the Osaka bike show in Japan this weekend, hinting the firm is taking the machine seriously.

It’s going to star alongside the new CFR250 Rally and the previously-shown True Adventure and RC213V-S concept bikes.

Details are sketchy, with Honda’s only official line being that it’s a 'streetfighter-style lightweight motorcycle with a single cylinder engine mounted on a trellis frame'.

Earlier info from the Indonesian show revealed it used a 150cc single from the existing CB150R (a model that isn’t sold in Europe.)

Stick a learner-legal 125cc version in there and a production version could be an interesting proposition over here – although only at the right price, of course, and things like single-sided swingarms aren’t usually associated with bargain bikes.
