Pricing and availability information for the CFMoto 800MT Explore has been announced, with the bike set to arrive in UK dealers this month.

In fact, the CFMoto 800MT Explore should be available in authorised dealers right about now; "mid-July 2023," is the period specified by CFMoto for the arrival of their newest 800MT variant in UK dealers.

The 800MT Explore originally emerged back in February 2023, although details at the time were relatively scarce. Already, we know the bike will have 90hp, and 75Nm, rear radar, and a 19-litre fuel tank. Now, though, we have more information.

Firstly, the Michelin Anakee tyres are specifically the Michelin Functional Vacuum tyres, fitted to the 800MT in sizes 110/80 R19 at the front and 150/70 R17 at the rear. Further, the J.Juan brakes are 320mm dual discs at the front with four-piston radial callipers, and a single 260mm disc at the rear with a twin-piston calliper; while the KYB suspension includes full adjustability in the 43mm front forks; and the aforementioned rear radar is now confirmed to have functionality connected to blind spot detection, lane change assist, and rear collision warning.

Additional information also comes in regards to the clutch, which will be a Power Assisted Slipper Clutch (PASC) and which will operate in conjunction with a two-way quickshifter. Further, the weight - in opposition to the 231kg we reported back in February - will be 225kg.

Riding assists come in the form of C-ABS (Combined Anti-Lock Braking System), as well as traction control and stability control. The TCS is disengaged when using the 'Off-Road' riding mode, which is one of six modes that are selectable on the motorcycle's eight-inch MMI display.

Finally, the pricing for the CFMoto 800MT Explore has been confirmed at £11,990 when it arrives in CFMoto dealers in mid-July, available in two colours: 'Starry White' and 'Gem Black'.

CFMoto has launched an updated version of the 800MT adventure touring bike, named 800MT Explore Edition.

The new CFMoto 800MT Explore Edition uses, unsurprisingly, the base provided by the standard CFMoto 800MT which launched last year in two versions: Sport and Touring.

Added to that base, which specifically is the 800MT Touring (as you can tell from the spoked wheels, rather than the Sport's alloys), are Michelin tyres (the model is not specified by CFMoto but from appearance they seem to be Anakee Adventure), revised traction control, an eight-inch MMI display, and an RDS rear radar.

There are new paint options, “Gem Black” and “Starry White”, but other than that, the Explore Edition is identical to the Touring.

That means a dry weight of 231kg*, a 19-litre fuel tank, J.Juan brakes (dual 320mm discs at the front, single 260mm disc at the back) with ABS, and 67kW (90 horsepower) and 75Nm from the 799cc twin-cylinder engine.

The price for the CFMoto 800MT Explore Edition is not yet known, and neither is its expected availability. The small amount of technical additions on the Explore Edition of the CFMoto 800MT means it should be considered that the price will not be a large increase over the Touring and Sport versions. At the same time, it seems somewhat odd to launch an entire new variant of a motorcycle which has launched only in recent months, and which offers so few extras compared to the model from which it is derived.

* - Update, 13 July 2023, weight of the CFMoto 800MT now listed as 225kg.
