Motorcycle News’ publisher, Bauer Media, has confirmed that the MCN London Motorcycle Show is no more.

The long-running event at London’s ExCeL has been axed, with Bauer citing rising costs and a drop in exhibitor numbers as the key reasons behind the decision.

The show had been a fixture in the calendar since 2007, but it’s now been scrapped in favour of bolstering support for Motorcycle Live at the NEC in Birmingham. Behind-the-scenes discussions with the MCIA mean Bauer will now throw its marketing weight behind the NEC event instead.

The London show was one of only two major UK motorcycle exhibitions, attracting big-name riders like John McGuinness, Peter Hickman, Carl Fogarty, and Jorge Martin over the years. It also hosted world premieres, stage interviews, race bike displays, auctions, and indoor live-action events like flat-track racing and drag races.

According to British Dealer News, Bauer’s Group Commercial Director, Gareth Ashman, confirmed the move came after the 2025 edition (MCN’s 70th anniversary) and described it as a “really tough decision.” He added that while rider interest remained strong, it had become harder for some brands to justify the cost of putting out a stand.

For some, the news will come as no surprise. Visitor and exhibitor numbers have dwindled in recent years, and despite the special events like the Sprint and flat track racing adding a live action element to the show, sadly the London show just couldn’t get back to its best.
