Lightfighter opens electric race bike demos to the public with track tour

While some electric motorcycle brands have struggled to turn ambition into reality, Lightfighter is putting riders in the saddle and letting its V3-RS and V3-RH bikes do the talking.

Electric motorcycle start-up Lightfighter is taking a refreshingly straightforward approach to winning over sceptics, by letting riders get on its bikes and judge them for themselves.

The California-based firm has announced a six-round demo tour across some of its home state's best-known circuits, giving track-day riders the chance to sample its upcoming electric bikes before they officially go on sale.

It's a move that stands out in an industry where ambitious claims, glossy presentations and delayed production schedules (we’re looking at you, Damon!) have become all too familiar. Rather than asking riders to place deposits and wait, Lightfighter is opening the garage doors and inviting people to twist the throttle.

Starting on May 23 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, riders attending selected California track days will be able to test both the V3-RS Supersport and V3-RH Super Hooligan models. The bikes are derived directly from the company's MotoAmerica race programme and are being presented as a preview of what customers can expect when production begins.

According to Lightfighter CEO Brian Wismann, the aim is to let riders experience electric performance without the usual assumptions that often surround EV motorcycles. He said:

"The mission at Lightfighter is to build motorcycles that are the fastest around a racetrack, and we believe electric power is the best path to achieving that goal,"

"This tour is about giving racers and track riders the chance to experience for themselves the advantages of an electric motorcycle on a racetrack, and challenge some of the preconceptions surrounding EVs in the motorcycle industry."

The announcement comes shortly after the V3-RH secured a podium finish in MotoAmerica's Super Hooligan series at Barber Motorsports Park, providing a useful proof point for a brand still in its early stages.

The V3-RS is aimed squarely at club racers and dedicated track-day riders. It features a chromoly steel trellis frame, carbon-fibre seat unit and tail section, Öhlins FGR forks and TTX rear shock, alongside Lightfighter's in-house electric motor and gearbox package. The company claims the bike delivers superbike-rivalling acceleration while remaining lightweight and relatively simple to maintain.

Alongside it sits the V3-RH, a machine developed around MotoAmerica's Super Hooligan regulations. Combining upright ergonomics with the instant torque characteristics of an electric powertrain, the bike has already shown competitive pace in national-level racing.

The demo programme will visit Laguna Seca, Buttonwillow, Thunderhill and Sonoma Raceway throughout the summer and autumn of 2026. Riders must already be registered for the host track-day event and be riding in either the Intermediate or Advanced groups. Demo rides themselves are being offered free of charge.

2026 Lightfighter Demo Tour dates

  • May 23 – Laguna Seca (Fun Track Dayz)
  • June 20 – Buttonwillow Raceway Park (Fun Track Dayz)
  • July 5 – Laguna Seca (Volant Vivere Track Day)
  • July 25 – Thunderhill West (Pacific Track Time)
  • August 31 – Sonoma Raceway (Carter's Track Day)
  • October 24 – Thunderhill East (Z2 Track Days)

For a company betting heavily on electric performance motorcycles, putting potential customers directly in the saddle may prove far more convincing than any press release or overblown promise from a CEO ever could.
