The Czech brand Jawa has revealed an interesting new concept bike, with the Jawa 1000 Sport Cruiser concept making its public bow at the Brno bike show.

According to reports, the bike is set to be limited to just 15 units and has come about thanks to the Czech brand’s collaboration with the Chinese brand Jedi. It’s said to make around 113bhp, and weigh in the region of 240kg. Both those factors mean that the term ‘sport’ in the bike’s model name should be taken with a big pinch of salt.

The man behind the striking design is Jan Hrbek, who blended swooping lines, Jawa’s signature paint colour and low-slung aesthetic. The chassis boasts some fairly high-spec kit, with Brembo Stylema calipers being joined by Ohlins suspension at both ends of the bike. Topping off the exhaust system is a tasty-looking Leo Vinci end can, which, if it is indeed a 270-degree crank as we expect, should at least sound very nice.

The model shown at Brno is said to be a pre-production prototype, but quite how pre-production it actually is remains to be seen. The engine casings, for one thing, look extremely unconventional, leading us to believe that this is a very early, non-working clay or 3D printed vision of how the bike will look.

It’s not clear when the bike will be heading to production, or how much demand there is for a super-limited edition from an extremely niche manufacturer. Add in the price tag, which, according to Moto-Station, is around £53,000, and the Sport Cruiser looks like it’ll be a tough sell outside of a small band of die-hard fans.
