Isle of Man TT legend Guy Martin to race a Honda S2000R in April
Isle of Man TT legend Guy Martin will make his debut in the Racing Hondas Championship in April.

Guy Martin will take on a new racing challenge in April, as the road racing legend will make his debut in the Racing Hondas Championship.
The multiple TT podium finisher will do so behind the wheel of an S2000R machine, following a recent test at Oulton Park.
Martin, who has enjoyed a successful career as both a motorcycle racer and television personality, completed more than 40 laps during the one-day test, which were spread across two different cars.
Martin’s debut in the Racing Hondas Championship will take place in the season-opener at Silverstone, where he will drive a Takata-liveried machine in the S2000 Cup.
Speaking after his recent test at Oulton Park, Martin said:
“It’s a cracking bit of kit. For me, it was all new, so the day was about getting my eye in and seeing what the car was like. I was really pleased with it.
“It’s one of those cars where I just need to build confidence, but I love Hondas, and I really enjoyed it. It’s got huge amounts of grip, and after the test I feel really excited to race it in the pack at Silverstone.”
The test at Oulton Park also saw Martin try out the new Probite brake components, as well as a different chassis set-up with a view to making the 2026 race car more lively.
Racing Honda co-ordinator Paul McErlean also spoke about Martin joining the series for round one, saying:
“Welcoming someone of Guy’s calibre and profile to experience the S2000R was a fantastic opportunity for the championship, and we are delighted that the test has now led to him confirming he will join us for Silverstone.
“He got a genuine feel for the S2000R, and it quickly became clear that the package made a strong impression. His decision to race the car for the opening round at Silverstone underlines the level of interest already building around this exciting new class.”
Following Martin’s debut at Silverstone, the car will then be driven by BTCC legend James Kaye.
