George White becomes Mega Motorcycle Store
New retailer to sell clothing and accessories
GEORGE WHITE is to re-open for business on Saturday 10 March under the new name of Mega Motorcycle Store, focusing on clothing and accessories.
George White, which went into administration in January, will return as a new retailer - funded by a private investor and managed by former George White staff members out of the existing premises in Swindon, Slough and Bolton.
All of the remaining George White stock being held by administrators has been acquired by Mega Motorcycle Store, with the new retailer aiming to continue 'the clothing and accessory bargains for which the Swindon-based dealer was renowned'.
There are no plans to sell new motorcycles, but on the opening day there will be an auction of more than 100 used bikes that were formally owned by George White. The bikes will be available for viewing on Thursday 8 March.
Former George White director, Steve Gannicott will be heading up the new business, as before and said: "It was truly heartbreaking to see George White go under ... This new venture is going to concentrate solely on those clothing and accessory bargains that Britain's bikers have become accustomed to."
