Honda GB350S leads strong UK sales in May with 322 units sold
Honda’s popular GB350S has regained top spot in the UK modern classic sales charts for the month of May.

After three months leading the UK’s modern classic sales charts, the BSA Bantam 350 has lost top spot to Honda’s GB350S, which sold 322 units in May.

That number is the highest of any individual motorcycle, with Honda’s CB125F slotting into second place with 160 units sold, according to statistics provided by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA). Third on that list was BMW’s R1300 GS, which sold 152 units in May. However, the GB350S sold more units than those two motorcycles combined.

In terms of total sales in one month, only the BMW R1300 GS Adventure has sold more units than the GB350S since March 2025, selling a total of 359 units that month.
The Honda GB350S started 2026 as the best-selling modern classic in January, but had been replaced at the top by the Bantam 350 in February, March and April.
Away from individual bikes, May’s numbers as a whole continued to build on what has been a much better 2026 for motorcycle sales in the UK, relative to the first five months of 2025.
Motorcycle registrations in May increased by 16.8 per cent, while all scooter sales produced growth of 7.6 per cent. Total numbers for the L-Category segment increased by 14.9 per cent compared with May 2025, while year-to-date figures have grown by 15.8 per cent.

In the big capacity motorcycle segment, it’s adventure bikes that are continuing to lead the way, with an increase of 29.1 per cent compared to May last year.
Tony Campbell, CEO of MCIA, said this about May’s positive numbers:
“As the market moves firmly into the peak selling season, May’s market volumes provide further encouragement, with strong year-on-year growth reflecting continued demand for Motorcycles and other vehicles in our sector which we know play a vital role in affordable means of transport for many but also a big passion and pastime for over a million people.”
