Custom Harley-Davidson built for Paul Walker sold at auction

Paul Walker Harley-Davidson

A Harley-Davidson FLSTCI built for the late Paul Walker has been sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale Arizona for just $34,100!

The bike was originally built for the Fast and the Furious star by California-based Road Dog Customs, especially to Walker’s specification. He commissioned the machine from the builder, although the amount it cost the Hollywood star is not known.

The bike is reported to have been styled along the lines of a 1940s and 1950s Harley, with subtle use of powder coating and custom paintwork to help bring the machine to life. Many parts of the bike, both body and mechanical, were custom built to meet Walker’s requirements. Including the tank-mounted instrument binnacle, handlebars, open-sided primary-drive, running boards, exhaust pipes and oil tank.

With the bike selling for $34,100 (around £26,000 in today’s money), it’s hard to see how the bike covered its purchase and build cost. Add to that the association with one of Hollywood’s most loved, and now sadly deceased, action stars, and the hammer price seems all the more good value.

Also selling in the auction were a number of other cars and bikes owned by Walker. They included a BMW F800GS from 2011, a 2008 Suzuki DR-Z400SM, but most importantly, a very special Harley.

Walker died on November 30th 2013 at the age of 40. He was the passenger in a Porsche sports car that was involved in a fatal one-car crash. His friend Roger Rodas was driving at the time. Walker's father and daughter filed separate wrongful death lawsuits against Porsche, which resulted in settlements.
