54 years 8 monthsAfter spending two years based in the German capital, BMW Motorrad Days returns to the stunning Alpine setting of Garmisch-Partenkirchen for 2024.
The theme for this year's event is "Year of the GS" and the festivities are taking place from 5 to 7 July 2024. Garmisch-Partenkirchen has, for 18 previous occasions, been the home of BMW’s annual festival of all things Motorrad, although the last two years have seen the event take up residence in the metropolis of Berlin - which isn’t quite as picturesque. Last year the theme for the event was celebrating the firm’s 100th anniversary though, so maybe taking the party to the home of Motorrad was a sensible move. Thankfully though, BMW is reverting back to the Alpine resort for this year, and a much more fitting setting for Beemer to celebrate its ‘Year of the GS’.
The news will no doubt please fans of BMW’s all-conquering adventure bike, with the Alps looking like a much more enticing prospect than a city break in northern Europe. It also lends itself perfectly to rideouts and tours of the local area, on and off-road special routes and of course the obligatory music, shows, entertainment and not to mention ‘refreshments’ - once the motorcycle keys have been safely locked in the hotel room.
More detailed information on the 2024 edition of the event will be made known in due course, until then though there is at least a save the date for your diary, allowing you to at the very least begin planning a ride out for you and your mates to some of the best roads in Europe.
Visordown was lucky enough to get invited along to the 2019 edition of the event, you can read how we got on here.
