Blood Biker finds heartfelt thank you note left on motorcycle

What a lovely gesture...

A WELSH BLOOD BIKER was left ‘choked’ when he found a mystery thank you message and £5 note left on his motorcycle.

Jamie Frayne, 40, from Aberystwyth, had popped into Tesco in Carmarthen to grab a snack while transporting samples on Saturday morning. When he returned to his marked bike, he found £5 rolled in a note and tucked between his handlebars. The note read: “Lunch is on me... you have helped me and you didn't know it. K. x”

The mechanic, who runs a garage in his home town in Ceredigion, posted a photo of the kind gesture on social media, and it has since received hundreds of likes.

Speaking to BBC, he said: "I was choked a little bit. It's nice. You feel that you're helping a good cause and making a change to people and their lives."

He added: "The bike is fluorescent with 'Blood' written on it, so I suppose it's easy to see.”

"I still have the £5 and I'm going to put it into one of the Blood Bike's pots."

Frayne started volunteering for Blood Bikes about four months ago after attending a fundraising event and works shifts on weekends and evenings.

Blood Bikes have been delivering vital supplies to hospitals around the country since the 1960s, however were only recognised as an emergency service in the 2018 autumn budget.

In 2017 the NHS recorded more than 93,000 runs by Blood Bikers across the UK.
