Dear BMW, please make this R12 nineT
46Works unveils a stunning, custom-built BMW R12 nineT that can actually be bought. But here’s the catch.

One of the most customisable motorcycles on the market today, the BMW R12 nineT, has undergone a custom build in Japan that is nothing short of a masterpiece.
Finished in a lovely blue paint scheme, this R12 nineT is one of many BMW machines that has received the full custom treatment by 46Works. It’s full of attitude and charisma thanks to Shiroh Nakajima, who is the man behind the build.
The bike has officially been named ‘R12 nineT 46Works Complete Custom #02’. However, it’s not just a one-off build either, with Nakajima saying “this is the second R12 nineT 46works Complete Custom that keeps costs down with as few moves as possible, but brings out the charm of this model even more”.

As alluded to by Nakajima, this new model is part of a second, albeit very limited run that will be sold exclusively through BMW Motorrad Sagamihara in Japan. The bike will be available in a total of 9 units.
There’s no mention of shipping, so whether you can actually buy the bike outside of Japan is unclear. But what we do know is that it comes with a price of 2,998,000 Japanese yen, which converts to around £14,500. That’s not including vehicle tax.
The first production run for this bike in 2024 produced a total of six units, which sold out immediately, making us believe the new line-up will find new homes equally as fast.

Combining nicely with the bike’s overall blue theme are the gold front forks. The bikini cowls and single seat cowls are standard on this particular model, while the bike also features a 46Works emblem positioned just above the engine cover. Finally, it gets low-hanging Tanax 46 mirrors.
A display model is already on show at BMW Motorrad Sagamihara for those lucky enough to be in Japan, but for the rest of us we’re sadly restricted to seeing images of the bike from afar. Unless of course, BMW wants to bless the UK with its own version of this build, (hint, hint).
