Aprilia’s 2027 MotoGP prototype makes on track debut at Jerez
Aprilia has become the fourth manufacturer to test its 2027 MotoGP prototype on track.

Aprilia has joined KTM, Honda and Ducati in testing its new 2027 MotoGP prototype, with a private test carried out at Jerez.
The Noale-based company is currently leading the way through four rounds of the 2026 MotoGP season. However, with 2027 bringing a huge change to the regulations, each manufacturer already has one eye on next year.
KTM was first to debut its 850cc machine with Pol Espargaro at Jerez, before Honda showed off its new prototype during a test at Sepang, in Malaysia. Ducati followed suit by testing its new bike at Misano earlier this month.
Aprilia’s Lorenzo Savadori was in charge of testing the new 2027 prototype at Jerez, which took place on Wednesday, two days after the post-race official MotoGP test. Aprilia has released pictures and video, with sound, as Savadori is seen revving the bike before leaving pit lane. That is followed by a clip of the Italian on the home straight before returning to the garage.
The Aprilia appeared to be using 2027-spec aerodynamics, including a revised nose profile and protruding front wing.
With Aprilia debuting its 850cc machine on Wednesday, that leaves Yamaha as the only manufacturer yet to showcase its new bike, although an early prototype of next year’s M1 is believed to have completed initial runs behind closed doors in Japan.
As well as testing its new 2027 prototype, Aprilia has been busy focusing on upgrades for this season as it looks to stay ahead of Ducati.
At the official Jerez MotoGP test on Monday, Aprilia debuted a new set of wings that are mounted on the upper fairing around the screen.
The winglets are similar in terms of their build to that of Ducati’s side wings, however, they are positioned much higher on both sides of the bike’s screen.
