Alpinestars has introduced a new flavour when it comes to its flagship race helmet the Supertech R10, and its Supertech R boots for that matter, after revealing a new limited edition Flyte combo.

Said new flavour has descended straight from MotoGP and 2024 world champion Jorge Martin. The Aprilia star, who is once again out injured at the moment, has suffered a torrid debut season with the Italian brand, competing in just six Grand Prix out of a possible 20 so far.

Martin has been in partnership with Alpinestars for his entire MotoGP career, and in that time there have been various collaborations between the two. This new Flyte release is the newest of those, with Martin saying it “reflects my drive to always keep moving forward, no matter what: it’s about personality, energy, and a constant drive towards the goal.”

The new Flyte design across both the Supertech R10 helmet and R boots features technology raced and developed specifically for MotoGP.

The new lid, which is priced at £1,149.99, is homologated to ECE 22.06, DOT, and FIM standards. It uses a shell construction that’s been developed through an advanced molding technology, and with a multi-composite combination featuring a 3k high-density carbon outer layer, a uni-directional carbon composite layer, an aramid fiber layer, and a fiberglass one.

To help fight and mitigate against rotational, oblique, and linear impact forces, Alpinestars has designed a special low friction surface on the inner surface of the EPS liner.

What this means is that the inner surface is polished and then specially coated to reduce friction even further, enabling the comfort liner to move against the EPS. This allows a rider’s head to move independently inside the helmet.

Moving onto the boots, the new Martin Flyte Supertech R footwear will cost you £619.99. Some of the new features with this racing boot include a new TPU shin plate that has been “redesigned for greater impact absorption performance, thus improving abrasion resistance in a key area”, says Alpinestars. Additionally, there’s a new replaceable shin slider for additional abrasion resistance and a new TPU stretch panel design with the zip for “an easier entry and exit”.
