Motorcycle riders across Europe are being encouraged to take post-test advanced motorcycle training, by the European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM).

Backed by the FIM, a new campaign called Learn - Ride - Enjoy - Repeat has been launched, with ACEM and the FIM claiming that the human element has repeatedly been shown to be the most critical factor in accidents involving riders.

While it’s true that in many cases, motorcycle accidents can be put down to other road user’s mistakes, it’s also been found that post-test training from a certified motorcycle instructor can greatly reduce the risk of being involved in a crash.

The new campaign from ACEM and the FIM links to the European Motorcycle Training Quality Label website, a DVR-backed website that highlights post-test training centres across Europe. The UK, though, isn’t listed on the website, although that’s not because we don’t have a similar portal specifically aimed at riders in the UK and Ireland.

For that, you need to head to the MCIA-backed Elite Rider Hub, which lists a vast number of training courses and centres the length and breadth of the UK. It’s also not wholly focused on road riding, as there are a number of approved off-road training courses and venues listed, making it easier than ever to brush up on your trail and dirt bike skills while having some fun with your mates.

You can find out more about the Elite Rider Hub on the official website, and while the ACEM campaign is only aimed at riders on the continent, the sentiment should remain the same for us here in the UK.
