Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 transformed into Himalayan 650 | Interlayan 650

As we all await the Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 (if it ever comes), check out Cooperb Motorcycles’ rendition built from the Interceptor 650.

This is genuinely something that we’ve been waiting for here at Visordown, putting the 650cc twin from the Royal Enfield Interceptor into the Himalayan. In fact, we’ve kept a keen eye on rumours on any displacement upgrade for the middleweight adventurer - recently rumoured to be given a slight bump to 450cc

Though that’s not quite the 650cc we dreamed up last year with our in-house rendering, it seems Cooperb Motorcycles have taken things into their own hands. The UK motorcycle dealer crafted a genuinely stunning Interceptor 650 Himalayan build - rightfully titled the ‘Interlayan 650’.

Though, if we do say so ourself, the Photoshop rendition isn't a million miles out...

Starting life as a standard Interceptor 650, the Interlayan concept destined a complete transformation of the naked machine - altering the entire front-end & riding controls, changing the wheels & suspension setup, fuel tank, and 2-to-1 exhaust with S&S can.

Stylistically it ticks all of the right boxes - for us anyway - and powering the machine is the enamoured 650cc parallel twin, with 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. A marked improvement on the standard single 411cc 24.3 bhp.

Posting on their YouTube channel in November 2021, the guys at CooperB noted that the project was still in progress, later showing it on the Givi stand at the NEC Motorcycle Live. Did you head over there to see it in the metal?

In any case, top work by the Cooperb Motorcycles team. I’ll refrain from saying it was a superb effort, but they’re known for making a good few specials from their base in Northamptonshire. Perhaps we should pop over there and have a cuppa!
