This V-twin clock is more expensive than a new Honda GB350S

French watchmaker B.R.M Chronographes has arguably rivalled Ducati and BMW, both of which have introduced motorcycle-inspired coffee machines in recent years, for having the best motorcycle-related device on the market.

I’d take a fresh coffee any day over telling time through a desk clock with my money, however, spending £4,980 could make the latter a much more enjoyable experience than it sounds. 

That’s because B.R.M Chronographes has revealed a new V-twin-inspired clock, which is as fancy as the price tag suggests it ought to be. 

The thing is, would you want to spend the best part of £5,000 on a ‘V-twin’ clock, when you could buy a brand-new Honda GB350S for £3,999, or a Royal Enfield Bullet 350 for £4,649? 

Personally, I would choose either of those motorcycles, however, this V-twin clock does get more interesting the more you unpack what’s involved.

The lavish desk clock is a premium bit of kit that uses solid aluminium as part of its build. The fins have been satin-finished in two tones, while lacquered rocker covers complete the look by sitting on top. 

Additionally, the dial is positioned directly between the two cylinders, and is set in a screwed bezel that is suspended by two pierced arms in an X shape descending towards the base.

The French company says only 20 units will be sold, while buyers will have a choice of six colourways including; Opaline white, France blue, Horizon blue, Saffron yellow, Coral orange, and finally, Garnet red. 

If a motorcycle-related device, rather than an actual motorcycle is on your Christmas wishlist, then this is certainly worth consideration.

Then again, price is likely to be a big factor, as it is with the above-mentioned BMW and Ducati coffee machines.

The BMW boxer-inspired coffee machines launched with a price of €7,900 (£6,860) including VAT, while Ducati’s ‘Barista M3 1926 Limited Edition Carbon Fibre by Ducati’, costs around £1,515.
