This Two-Wheeled TV Star has a Ridiculously Cheap Price Tag!
The bike was one of three that played a starring role in the 80s and 90s TV show Boon, and its auction estimate is extremely cheap.

One of the screen-used motorcycles that starred in the TV show Boon is heading to auction in July, and for a screen-used bike, its estimate is surprisingly low.
The BSA A65 Lightning is thought to be one of three used during shooting for the show, and it’ll be rolling over the auction block at H&H Classics motorcycle auction with an estimate of between £2,800 to £3,200 attached to it. That’s not a huge amount of cash for a bike which played a part in one of the 80s and 90s most popular TV shows.

For the kids in the room, Boon followed an ex-fireman called Ken Boon. He was a leather jacket-wearing biker who moonlighted as a private investigator, bodyguard and general troubleshooter. If you needed a bit of brains and brawn (Ken was never afraid of thumping someone if they needed it), Boon was the bloke to call.

The BSA A65 Lightning was touted to be BSA’s all-around sports bike, although not so much in the UK and Europe, as it was predominantly created for the US market. A closer ratio gearbox combined with a higher lift camshaft made for lively acceleration and performance at higher RPM than the standard A65.

Bought by the vendor's family in 2012, it is thought to be one of three A65s used throughout filming, with this one being the bike that would have been attached to a trailer to film moving shots and close-ups of Boon riding the bike. It will be supplied with a folder of receipts and history, together with a couple of signed photos of the stars and a current V5C. It also still wears the Rickman cases, complete with ‘Texas Rangers’ stickers, and ridiculously long rear-view mirror stays, which kind of make it look like a chopper from some angles.
