WE are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Fausto Gresini, a few days after his 60th birthday, following complications caused from Covid-19.
Gresini Racing posted on their official Twitter account to share the sad news with us.
Fausto Gresini was a two-time World Champion in the 125cc class, and became one of the most successful riders in the 125cc class. Fausto went on to become a team manager in 1997, continuing his success in motorsports from the other side of the pit wall.
The teams bearing his name will continue racing on in his honour in 2021.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends and team in this heartbreaking moment for motorsports.
