Ryan Vickers and the RAF Regular & Reserves Kawasaki appears set to miss round three of the 2019 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Donington Park after the rookie rider suffered a broken collarbone in an FP3 tumble.

The youngster – making his BSB debut in 2019 after winning the National Superstock 600 Championship in 2018 – came down heavily at Redgate and was taken to the medical centre for further assessment, where a broken collarbone has been confirmed.

The injury is a blow to Vickers, who has belied his experience on a Superbike this year with solid top ten performances at Oulton Park, while he was running as high as second fastest in FP3 before his fall.

Moreover, with Vickers the only representative for the RAF Regular & Reserves Kawasaki team – runners-up in 2018 with Moto2 rider Jake Dixon – it is likely the outfit will be forced to sit out this weekend’s triple-header.
