A one-off Barry Sheene replica race suit which will be worn by Freddie Sheene at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, will be auctioned off at Silverstone in aid of motorcycle charity Two Wheels for Life.

The bespoke Dainese leathers have been created as part of celebrations marking 50 years since Barry Sheene secured the first of his two 500cc World Championship titles in 1976. Goodwood is commemorating the anniversary throughout its 2026 motorsport events, with Freddie Sheene set to ride several of his father's historic race bikes up the famous hillclimb course during the Festival of Speed.

Built through Dainese's premium Custom Works programme, the suit has been hand-made in the Italian firm's Colceresa factory, the same facility responsible for producing race suits for some of the biggest names in modern MotoGP and WorldSBK.

While styled to honour Barry Sheene's iconic racing leathers, the suit incorporates Dainese's latest safety technology, including modern armour systems and the firm's current-generation D-Air airbag technology.

Freddie recently visited Dainese headquarters in Italy to be measured for the suit and to oversee its creation ahead of the Goodwood event.

After being worn during four days of demonstrations at the Festival of Speed, the one-piece leathers will be donated by Freddie Sheene and Dainese to raise funds for Two Wheels for Life, the official charity of Riders for Health.

The auction is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 8, during the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone, with Freddie expected to attend in support of the fundraising effort.

The suit is expected to be valued at more than £5,000 and is likely to attract significant interest from Barry Sheene fans and collectors alike, given its unique connection to one of Britain's most celebrated motorcycle racers.

Dainese's Custom Works programme, which allows riders to commission bespoke made-to-measure leathers, is currently available through the brand's flagship London store, with wider UK dealer availability planned in the future.

Two Wheels for Life says proceeds from the auction will support its work funding Riders for Health, which uses motorcycles and other vehicles to help deliver healthcare services to remote communities across Africa.
