Updates for KTM Duke 390

Standard slipper clutch likely to be one of several changes for 2015

KTM is this week due to announce a round of updates for the Duke 390, Visordown can reveal.

One possibility is a standard slipper clutch, an update already confirmed for India, where the 373cc single is made.

The naked Duke 390 shares a platform including frame and engine with KTM's fully faired RC390, so updates could apply to both models.

It could help them compete with a new sub-500cc naked BMW as well as Yamaha's soon-to-be-launched R3.

A slipper clutch helps prevent rear wheel lock on aggressive down-shifts.

A KTM source said: 'There are a few changes for the 390 Duke in 2015. I will send you over a document this week that lists the ones for the UK market.'

We'll bring you more details as soon as we have them.
