Peugeot announces new Citystar 200i

Citystar range boosted with new-for-2016 liquid-cooled 200cc model

PEUGEOT has just launched its latest model, the 200cc Citystar 200i, which sits alongside the smaller-capacity Citystar 125.

Peugeot says that with 19hp on tap, the new Citystar 200i is 33% more powerful than its 125cc sibling, but only 2kg heavier with a claimed dry weight of 157kg. Because of those figures, according to Peugeot, the new 200cc Citystar is as compact and nimble as its smaller sibling, but has the performance of a maxi scooter.

It's powered by a liquid-cooled ‘low-friction’ four-valve single-cylinder engine with a fully automatic CVT transmission.

Like its smaller sibling, it’s also on 13-inch wheels with 37mm diameter forks and five-way adjustable rear shocks. Wheelbase is 1430 mm to make it ‘nimble on crowded roads’, something which will be aided by the fact that it measures only 750mm at its widest point. The seat height is 795mm.

Braking at the front is handled by a 240mm single disc and a 210mm disc at the rear.

Pillions are catered for with the a dual seat, proper fold-out pegs and grab rails.

Under the seat, there’s room for two full-face helmets and there’s a 12V charging socket in there too.

The Citystar 200i is available in black or white, costs £3299 and includes a two-year unlimited mileage warranty.
