2023 was a busy year for Moto Morini. At EICMA, the brand brought a total of four new bikes to the global stage: the Corsaro 750 and Corsaro Sport, the X-Cape 1200, and Milano.

Sadly for us, none of those have officially arrived in the UK yet, although the most exciting of the lot, the X-Cape 1200, does now finally look a little closer to arriving.

That means we can now tell you a little more about the handsome-looking and well-specced adventure bike.

First up, the engine. We knew it was the V2 Corsa Corta EVO unit, but its final spec for the UK hadn’t quite been confirmed. We now know it will, indeed, be producing a chunky 123.2bhp at 9,000rpm, and 77.3lb ft at a heady 7,000rpm. Moto Morini claims the engine should be able to propel the machine to a top speed of north of 140mph. So plenty for an Autobahn blast across the continent.

The frame of the bike is a mix of steel and aluminium, while the suspension that’s bolted to it features a fully adjustable inverted fork, with 180 mm wheel travel, at the front, and a with single shock absorber, with a progressive linkage, giving you 180 mm of travel at the rear. Braking comes from the specialists at Brembo, giving you 320mm discs and four-piston monoblock calipers at the front and a single 280mm disc and two-piston caliper at the rear. You also get cornering ABS Bosch, and while there is no mention of it on the Moto Morini website, we’d assume the presence of an IMU also means lean-sensative traction control could be a feature.

Overall, the bike tips the scales at 245kg (kerb), has an 860mm seat height, a hefty(ish)23-litre fuel tank and ground clearance of 190mm. All in all, you’d have to say that for an on-road sporty-looking adventure bike for general touring, it looks just the ticket. But there’s still one vital piece of information we don’t know. The price of the thing. The rest of the Moto Morini UK range is sensibly priced; if that pricing structure is also used for the 1200, it might be your one to watch for 2025.
