MBP to launch T125 and T125X adventure motorcycles in 2023

Two new 125cc adventure-style bikes are due to arrive from MBP in 2023, with the T125 enduro and T125X adventure motorcycles.

MBP’s T125 range is an expansion of the brand’s roster of adventure motorcycles targeting younger and more inexperienced riders.

We wrote recently about MBP’s C1002V cruiser, and the brand also has an adventure range. MBP stands for Moto Bologna Passione, and the Bolognese targets inexperienced riders with its 125 adventure range.

It is a range that consists of two models, the MBP T125 and MBP T125X. Derived from the same base, it is not a surprise that both bikes feature the same single-cylinder, four-stroke DOHC 125cc engine producing 11kW (14.8 horsepower) and 11Nm of torque. The engine also has an electric start and liquid cooling.

Strangely, the spec sheet of the T125 does not confirm its front suspension type, but does confirm its front wheel travel at 180mm. At the rear, there will be a single shock absorber offering 39.5mm of wheel travel. The T125X offers the same wheel travel at both ends, but has confirmed a USD telescopic fork at the front in combination with the rear monoshock.

The brakes for both bikes are the same, with a 265mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear, but the respective design intentions of the two bikes are highlighted by the wheels and tyres. The T125X has 17-inch wheels front and rear with 100/80 and 130/80 tyres, respectively. However, the T125 replaces the 17-inch front wheel with a 19-inch front wrapped in a 90/90 tyre, while the 17-inch rear wheel has a 110/90 tyre.

Of course, the implication here is that the T125 is more off-road ‘ready’ than the T125X. Indeed, MBP describes the T125 as a ‘road enduro’ motorcycle, while the T125X is given the label of ‘road adventure’.

The T125 (135kg) is also 5kg lighter than the T125X (140kg), its wheelbase 48mm shorter at 1,352mm, and its length 10mm shorter at 2,110. Although the ground clearance of both bikes is the same at 265mm, the T125X (1,340mm) is 120mm taller than the T125 (1,220mm).

Both can carry a maximum load of 170kg, both have 11.5-litre fuel tanks, both have a top speed of 120kph (74.5mph), and both have a seat height of 835mm.

Prices are not yet announced for either bike, although they are expected to arrive in the first half of 2022.
