Major updates for Vespa GTS 300 Super

MAJOR updates have been announced to the Vespa GTS 300 Super including the addition of traction control and a bigger under-seat compartment.

The country's best-selling big scooter gets 'ASR' Anti-Slip Regulation, the same traction control system as Vespa's flagship 946, the 125cc scooter with an eight-grand price tag.

The GTS Super also gains optional ABS and the ability to connect to a smartphone.

According to a release from Vespa, it allows smartphones to display 'speedometer and tachometer data, but also engine power and torque, longitudinal acceleration, instant and average fuel consumptions, average speed and much more'.

The release adds: 'One of the many features provided by pairing your smartphone with Vespa Multimedia Platform is the parked Vespa finder, certain to be popular in the busy urban cities.'

Styling updates include a new rear light and instrument cluster, while the model also gets a bigger seat.

It makes 22hp from its 278cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine.

The updated GTS Super costs £4,441 on-the-road, or £4,591 with ABS.
