KTM Duke 250 and RC250 coming?

New models rumoured for release this weekend

KTM is set to unveil new Duke 250 and RC250 models this weekend in Toyko, according to rumours.

The Austrian firm already makes the single-cylinder Duke and RC 125 and 390, as well as a 200 variant for foreign markets.

The 250s would make new-capacity entries into the range, using a sleeved-down version of the 390 engine rather than a bored-out version of the 125 and 200 plant.

All the Dukes and RCs share the same frame and the new models would be no exception.

It’s not clear whether the Duke and RC250 will come to the UK, but if they do they will make competition for Kawasaki’s new Ninja 250SL and Z250SL.

It’s understood they’re due to be unveiled at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show which runs from today until Sunday.
