Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP Isle of Man TT Special Review
Where better than the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course to give the 'everyday racer' 2019 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade a proper thrash
HERE AT VISORDOWN, we are big fans of the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. We’re also big fans of the Isle of Man TT… can you see where this is going?
The latest generation ‘blade is already a well-engineered, high-quality and practical Superbike – one of our favourites no less – but that hasn’t stopped Honda from finessing it for this CBR1000RR 2019 MY update.
With the modifications designed to ensure this excellent all-round package tackles the rigours of day-to-day riding as well as it thrashes out on a track day, we wanted to give it the ‘best of both worlds’ with a special road test out on the Isle of Man.
Fast, scenic, notorious, the ‘Mountain’ is one of the world’s most iconic racing routes bringing a motorsport mentality to a real-world setting… making it the perfect hunting ground for this test.
Disclaimer, the weather was certainly against us – and everyone – as a two week festival was squeezed into a ‘schedule sprint’ in the end once the heavens had cleared, but it was enough time for us to feel like racing heroes on roads you can go and get a pint of milk 50 other weeks of the year.
Oh, be sure to get that volume up for this.
