Harley confirms Ultra Limited Low

Lowest-seated tourer ever with thinner grips for small hands. Don’t snigger

HARLEY-DAVIDSON has confirmed there will be a lower-seated version of the Electra Glide Ultra Classic for 2015, along with a range of other model updates.

The ‘slammed and loaded’ Ultra Limited Low, revealed first by Visordown on August 19, offers the lowest seat height of any premium tourer, at 650mm, according to Harley.

Harley says it responded to feedback from ‘riders as short as 5’5”’ by lowering the suspension and fitting a new low-profile seat.

The width of the primary drive housing has been reduced to make it even easier for the shorter legged to reach the ground. Grips have been reduced in diameter so the stubby-fingered can more easily reach the levers.

We’re not laughing at all.

Prices start at £21,395 and all the new parts can be bought separately so current owners can update their Ultra Classic to the same spec.

Michelle Kumbier, Harley-Davidson’s Senior Vice President of Motorcycle Operations, said: “With this new model we are addressing the important issue of fit, perhaps the ultimate expression of personalisation.

“This Low model will allow many riders to feel more comfortable and more confident when they settle into the seat.”

Other models to get updates include the Road Glide Special, which costs from £19,495, and the Street Glide Special, from £19,295.

The Street Glide, Road Glide Ultra, Softail Deluxe and Limited all get new customised editions as part of Harley’s ‘Custom Vehicle Operations’ programme. Prices start from £23,195.
