Ducati’s new 937cc ‘versatile sports bike’ revealed, with UK price

Ducati Supersport and Supersport S debut

WE’VE known it was coming since July, when a picture leaked from a private viewing, and it looks every bit as stunning as that early image suggested.

Here’s Ducati’s new Superport and Supersport S, which were properly unveiled at the Intermot motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany, this afternoon.

Powered by Ducati’s 937cc Testastretta V-twin making 113hp, the Supersport is intended as a ‘versatile sports bike’, more accessible to the road rider than the likes of Panigales, and suited to motorway and town as well as the track, with high clip-ons for comfort.

The Supersport features Bosch ABS and Ducati traction control with three riding modes – Sport, Touring and Urban.

A height-adjustable screen and 16-litre fuel tank make it suited to ‘medium-distance rides’ as well as twisties, according to Ducati.

The Supersport S (pictured above) adds fully adjustable Öhlins suspension and an up/down quick-shifter to the package. It’s also got a pillion seat cover, which is available as an accessory for the base model.

Ducati CEO Claudio Domenical said: “Expert riders will appreciate the true sports personality of the SuperSport, its excellent road performance and evident penchant for journeying and everyday use.”

The Supersport will cost £10,955 when it goes on sale in March next year, while the Supersport S will be £12,295 in red and £12,495 in white.
