ITALIAN designer Oberdan Bezzi has knocked up this interesting illustration of what a new Yamaha MT-09-based sportsbike could look like.
While Yamaha have denied the suggestion that the MT-09's engine and chassis will form the basis for a future sportsbike in their range, the concept is a decent one and if the MT-09 is anything to go by, the package has the makings of a fantastic sports bike that would rival other triples like Triumph's Daytona 675 and MV's F3 800.
It's highly unlikely Yamaha will produce a bike like Bezzi's 'YZF-R3' but this picture may spur them on.
