CCM reveals new Spitfire

New 600cc single coming soon

CCM Spitfire

BOLTON-BASED manufacturer CCM has announced a new model – the Spitfire, which will be officially launched at next week’s London Motorcycle Show.

The Spitfire is the first bike to be produced by CCM’s new Skunkwerx department and will be limited to just 150 individually numbered examples, starting at £7,995 on the road.

Power comes from a liquid-cooled 600cc single-cylinder engine that makes a claimed 55hp and 43lb/ft torque. The engine is housed in a hand-welded British T45 carbon steel frame, for which the team enlisted the skills of Ted Unwin, one of the original members of CCM back in the 1970s. Other chassis parts include an adjustable WP USD fork, fully adjustable Tractive monoshock. Braking is handled by Brembo parts.

Dry weight is claimed to be 120.8kg and the seat height is 830mm.

As you can see, in terms of look, the Spitfire’s ultra-minimal styling takes some influence from café racer styling with a nod to flat trackers courtesy of those and 19 inch wheels and balloon tyres.

CCM says the bike is the result of a small group of its engineers getting creative and developing ideas in their own time to build their ream bike without having to make concessions to bureaucracy and design rules.
