BMW 350 enduro-style model coming soon

Followed by a 500cc R1200R lookalike

THE first of a new range of sub-500cc BMWs will be a 350cc enduro-style machine similar to the G650X produced until 2009, according to Indian bike websites.

The machine will be the first result of the tie-up between BMW and Indian firm TVS, which will see a range of new sub-500cc bikes.

The new models will be designed by BMW and built in India. European versions will be sold as BMWs, while in India they will have a TVS badge.

BMW is reported to have already developed two models for TVS to build, and sent six motorcycles to India in preparation for production.

The second new model is understood to be a naked roadster with similar styling to the R1200R but using a 500cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine.

TVS Motor Company chairman Venu Srinivasan recently said the joint venture's first product would be launched in the second half of next year.
