A new version of a familiar bike will be getting unveiled at Motorcycle Live, as the Ariel Ace Black Edition arrives

A stealthy new model will be making its first appearance in public at Motorcycle Live, as the wraps are pulled off the new 2023 Ariel Ace Black Edition.

It’s fairly unusual to see new models getting their first unveiled at the UK’s biggest motorcycle show, although on occasion, some of the smaller manufacturers do give the punters a surprise at the NEC. This year, it’s the Ariel Motorcycle Company providing some new metal, and it comes in the form of the stealthy Ariel Ace Black Edition.

As the name suggests, the primary tone for this bike is black, as much of the bike is finished in a matt black finish. Only the Honda-built VFR1200F engine remains its original bronze colour. The bike features a Cerakote frame, meaning it not only looks good but it’ll be protected from the elements too.

The bike is a super-limited edition, with just five going on sale – most of which will probably sell during the event. And with a sticker price of £22,495, it’s not a hugely expensive way of owning a seriously rare motorcycle.

As mentioned, the heart of the bike is still the same Honda-built V4 that used to reside in the venerable VFR1200 range of bikes. Within the Ariel Ace, that VFR engine produces a very healthy 172bhp, and runs a conventional 6-speed gearbox and even shaft drive.

To get up close to the Black Edition from Ariel for yourself, head over to Hall 3, stand 3A15 once the show opens today.

More information on the rest of the Ariel range can be found on the official website.
