More Rugged Triumph Scrambler 400 XC Launches in India

Triumph has quality slid a new model into its Indian range, as the new Scrambler 400 XC gets set to take on the trails in India.

This is looking like an Indian-only model, which is a shame, but nonetheless, the new machine is available on the Triumph India website, with a list price of 294,147 Indian Rupee (£2,600) and a host of new parts.

From what we can tell, the technical specification of the new XC is very similar to that found on the 2024 Scrambler 400 X we have already reviewed. The engine is the same 398cc single-cylinder, which still boasts the same 39.5bhp as before. What has changed is the equipment, with the XC carrying a host of welcome additional features.

For starters, there are those neat-looking spoked wheels, with the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear allowing for tubeless tyres. For starters, they look much neater than the cast items found on the Scrambler 400 X, and the ability to use tubeless tyres is welcome. On top of the new wheels is a revised front mudguard, which is shortened and backed up by a high-level fender mounted on the underside of the headlight. Another addition is the brushed bashplate, which looks like a slightly more substantial item than is found on the stock machine.

The new bike also seems to have engine protection bars on either side of the bike, something that would be an extra on the 400 X. The final element of change that we can see is the small flyscreen, which cleans up the top of the headlight and dash nicely. All the other specs of the bike seem to be the same, except for the weight, with the XC tipping the scales at 185kg wet, while the Scrambler 400 X comes in at 179kg.

Three colour options are listed on the Triumph India website: a bright and vibrant yellow, black and white. Sadly (for us), the Triumph India specifically denotes the bike as only available in India. We’ll keep you posted on whether that situation changes.
