New BMW GS Rallye Carbon Helmet Gets Extensive ConnectRide Features
The new BMW GS Rallye Carbon lid comes fully kitted out with safety features and the ConnectRide COM system, giving it up to 16 hours of running time

Designed for optimal compatibility with GS models, BMW’s new GS Rallye Carbon helmet comes with the latest generation communication technology and can run for up to 16 hours.
With the BMW ConnectedRide COM P1 GS system, riders can operate it via vivid graphics with the navigator or app thanks to the Multicontroller feature while riding. What this means is that riders are not required to take their hands off the handlebars in order to use the communication system.
The battery and main unit have been positioned under a rear cover, while the control panel is built into the helmet’s design on the left side.

The system operates with Mesh 2.0 and has been optimised for noise suppression, as well as including second-generation HD speakers. The run times include eight hours with continued mesh usage, 12 hours with normal usage (30 per cent Mesh/Phone/Music) and 16 hours with low usage.
The helmet’s shell is constructed with a mixture of carbon and aramid fibre, with the latter used to combat extreme heat. BMW says the new helmet is “exceptionally lightweight” and it comes in two shell sizes.

The Multi Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) Integra TX that’s found on the helmet is designed to reduce the rotational movement of the head when impact occurs, adding further layers of safety. If an accident does take place, the Pull-Rescue-System allows the cheek pads to be removed without having to take off the helmet.
Additional features include the removable peak, which has a side fixation and self-locking mechanism, as well as the adjustable sun visor. Another very nice addition from BMW includes a visor setting specifically aimed at helping during city traffic, although full details on how this works remain unclear.
Besides the factory-installed visor with a Pinlock 120 lens, the GS Rallye Visor Kit features a wide selection of colours and tints. It is available in orange, blue mirrored, silver mirrored, as well as clear and tinted options.

No price or release date has been issued by BMW as of this writing, but interested customers can contact their local dealer for more information.
