LS2 Breeze summer jacket for urban riders arrives

Mesh panels, CE armour and a sub-£90 price tag make the new LS2 Breeze look like a timely answer to sticky summer commuting – assuming the British weather gets the memo.

The new LS2 Breeze riding jacket has arrived at just the right time for bikers hoping the UK’s promised heatwave actually materialises, bringing with it a lightweight, heavily ventilated design and a price tag that undercuts much of the competition.

Aimed squarely at urban riders and summer commuters, the Breeze combines large mesh panels with a 600D textile outer shell to maximise airflow while still offering proper abrasion resistance. And while some budget summer kit can sometimes feel a bit bargain-bin, LS2 has still packed in the essentials where protection is concerned.

The jacket is certified to Class A and comes fitted with removable CE Level 1 shoulder and elbow armour as standard, while the elbow protectors can be repositioned thanks to dual adjustment pockets. Riders wanting a bit more impact protection can also add LS2’s optional chest and Level 2 back protectors separately.

Practicality seems to be the main focus here, though. LS2 has added scratch-resistant piping around the main zip to stop tanks getting marked up, alongside adjustment points on the waist, cuffs and arms to help tailor the fit. Reflective detailing is also included for added visibility after dark, while two external hand pockets cover the day-to-day basics.

In fairness, the biggest selling point may simply be the price. At £89.99, the Breeze lands well below the sort of money many brands now charge for a mesh summer jacket alone, never mind one supplied with armour already fitted.

The new jacket is available in both men’s and women’s sizing, ranging from XS through to 5XL.

For riders already sweating it up in spring traffic or sitting waiting for the annual two-week British summer to finally show up, the LS2 Breeze could end up being one of the more timely arrivals of the season.
