Documents point to new Super Duke RR for 2026
Type approval documents filed in Europe suggest that KTM is working on a new 2026 1390 Super Duke RR.

If the regular 1390 Super Duke R or Super Duke R Evo aren’t quite extreme enough for you, 2026 might supply you with a solution: a new KTM 1390 Super Duke RR is being reported.

Official details and specs for the bike have not been confirmed by KTM, although multiple outlets are pointing to a bike with several key updates over and above its existing, already extreme, siblings.

An RR version of the Super Duke isn’t a new thing, with the 1290 being the last iteration to gain the double ‘R’ moniker. That bike was a lighter, angrier, and more focused version of the bonkers super naked, shedding 9kg (bringing the weight down to 180kg), and boasting 180bhp. The weight loss plan was achieved thanks to extensive use of carbon fibre and the addition of wheels that were 1.5kg lighter than standard. The 1290 RR also boasted bespoke WP Apex Pro 7548 Close Cartridge forks, an adjustable WP Apex Pro 7117 steering damper, and an Apex Pro 7746 rear shock, rounding out the hardware.

The type approval documents for this bike don’t reveal much about it, although La Repaire Des Motards reports that weight has again been shed, with the new bike losing 10kg. It goes on to say that the power output of the V-twin remains as before at 190bhp. It also reports that an Akrapovic exhaust system is present - something which would be partly responsible for the weight saving.
It’s also rstated that the ride triangle of the RR has changed, with slightly wider bars (17mm over the stock bike), while the RR sits a claimed 13 mm taller and 2 mm longer than before.
The previous 1290 Super Duke RR was a limited edition model, with only 500 made globally available. It was also only able to be reserved through a dedicated portal on the KTM website - and sold out very quickly. We’d expect KTM to run with a similar theme for the new 1390 RR once it does officially land.
