Popular Isle of Weight Scooter Rally returns on August Bank Holiday weekend
This weekend’s August Bank Holiday will see the popular IW International Scooter Rally return on the Isle of Wight.

Thousands of scooter enthusiasts are expected to descend on the Isle of Wight this weekend, as part of the popular IW International Scooter Rally.
Organised by the VFM and the British Scooter Rallies Association, the event will take place from Friday, August 22 to Monday, August 25.

The weekend-long event features a packed programme including an International Custom Show, which, as its name suggests, will feature a variety of unique scooter builds. Live bands and DJs will also be playing throughout the weekend.
Sandown Airport will host the event, with camping areas, a traders’ village, bars and food stalls all open to the public. There will also be a range of independent scooter-related events for attendees to participate in.
One of those will be the Sunday Ride-Out, where riders will begin their journey in Ryde, which is the largest town on the Isle of Wight. Riders will then head through local areas of the island, including Puckpool, Nettlestone, St Helens and Bembridge, to name a few, before looping back around to the airport.
The rally regularly attracts close to 10,000 scooter owners, according to reports, and because of that, it’s even been dubbed ‘the world’s largest scooter rally’.
More information about this weekend’s rally can be found on the official VFM website, which also includes the annual national scooter rally schedule.
Following the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally will be another event in Woolacombe, Devon (September 19 to the 22). The final rally of the year will then take place on October 31 to November 2, in Landudno, North Wales.
