Great North Air Ambulance joins TT as official charity
The Isle of Man TT has named the Great North Air Ambulance Service as its official charity partner for 2026.

The Isle of Man TT has confirmed the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) as its Official Charity Partner for the 2026 TT and Classic TT.
The TT’s charity programme aims to back organisations that make a difference on the Island, and few fit the bill quite as aptly as the GNAAS. The service provides emergency critical care across the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria, and the Isle of Man, with doctors and paramedics bringing hospital-level treatment straight to the scene of serious incidents by air or land.
GNAAS has been active on the Isle of Man since 2022, flying out to serious accidents and helping with emergency transfers to UK hospitals. They’ve completed more than 70 missions on the Island so far, delivering medical interventions that would otherwise only be available in a hospital.

The GNAAS relies on donations to keep aircraft in the air and teams ready to help, and through the TT partnership, it’s hoped it can raise £124,000 as well as awareness of the team’s work.
Sarah Maltby MHK, Political Member with Responsibility for Motorsport, said:
“Building on the success of the TT’s first official charity partnership with Mannin Cancers, the new partnership with GNAAS demonstrates a continued commitment to use the TT and Classic TT as a platform to support services that deliver significant public benefit and measurable impact”.
In 2026, the main Isle of Man TT Races will begin with qualifying, May 25-29, with the racing running from May 30 to June 6. The Classic TT (with the new Manx Grand Prix combined) will see the classic bikes qualifying from August 16-22, with races taking place from August 24-28.
