Up to 50 jobs are said to be being created at the new motorcycle superstore, which is moving into the building that previously homes the Donington Grand Prix Collection. The Donington Grand Prix Collection sadly shut its doors in November 2018, leaving the site vacant since then.
Superbike Factory says it wasn’t to open a 1,000 bike showroom at the site bike Summer this year. There is even talk of an onsite café joining the site, making it not just a showroom but a destination for motorcyclists on a ride out.
Scott Behrens, chief exec of SuperBike Factory, claimed that the circuit’s close proximity was a big attraction to the site.
“The opening of the Donington Park site has been part of our exciting growth plans for quite a while. Not only is it a highly accessible location for our customers, but its heritage and association with motorsport in the UK is also world-renowned.
“By creating another major destination for the biker community to ride out to, we are becoming part of bike culture in the UK.
“Everyone knows bikers love to tell you where they’ve been, where they’re going next, and what they’re riding.
“SuperBike Factory is not just about selling bikes - the bikes are well priced and are so good, they sell themselves. SuperBike Factory Donington will be a place to come together, meet new people, and share stories – and what better place than on the doorstep of motor racing heritage."
As part of its plans, it is looking to recruit motorbike technicians, sales agents and support staff for when it opens later this year.
