Energica has its first official UK dealer

Italian electric bike specialist expands into the UK with Moto Corsa

ITALIAN electric motorcycle specialist Energica has expanded into the United Kingdom by choosing Salisbury-based Moto Corsa as its first official dealer in the British Isles.

Energica says its growth into the UK market follows a positive trend for electric vehicle sales in the UK, which were up by 27% in January. Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Taders (SMMT) indicate that the market for electric vehicles is growing in the UK, with 2,400 electric cars registered here last year, up from 500 in 2014.

Energica hopes to capitalise on the UK’s long term plan to invest £600 million into sustainability by 2020. Part of this plan is the ‘Go Ultra Low Cities’ scheme, which has seen £40 million invested in the promotion of electric vehicles across four cities (Bristol, London, Milton Keynes and Nottingham).

Livia Cevolini, CEO of Energica Motor Company said in a press release: ‘The construction of a distribution network shows how the operators in the sector to believe in our company and in our products. The Energica dealers are first of all partners with whom we are initiating a process for the success of the brand.’

The Energica Eva, based on the Ego electric superbike, is expected to go on sale at some point this year.
