Indian Motorcycle expands UK team

This slightly boring news is interesting because of what it suggests

The internal HR workings of various brands’ UK teams is not usually the sort of thing that we bother to report on, but this one strikes us as a little noteworthy.

Indian Motorcycle has appointed two new people to its UK team as it gears up for 2026. Nothing spectacular about that, perhaps, but remember that Indian is set to part ways with its parent company, Polaris, toward the start of the year.

If the (almost) 125-year-old brand is hiring – especially outside of its core US market – that’s got to be a good sign, right?

James Tonks, who Indian says brings “years of experience to the role” will step up to join Robert Gregory as a District Sales Manager. Tonks, according to Indian, has “worked in technical, dealership, and network support positions within the motorcycle and powersports industries since 2007.”

“Representing such a legendary brand as Indian Motorcycle is a real privilege,” said Tonks. “I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting owners at the national rally in Cornwall, and their passion for Indian Motorcycle is infectious. I’m looking forward to working with Rob and the network as we implement plans to strengthen and expand our presence in the UK market over the coming months.”

Meanwhile, industry stalwart Gina Evans will step into the role of Marketing Specialist. Hitherto, Evans spent more than 20 years working for the MCIA, and she has played a major role in past MCL shows.

“Having been a part of promoting motorcycling in my role at the MCIA, the chance to make the move to a manufacturer, especially one as steeped in history, stories, and style, was an opportunity I couldn’t ignore,“ said Evans. “It comes at an exciting point in the brand’s history as we celebrate the founding of Indian Motorcycle in 1901, and I’m really looking forward to being a part of the next chapter.”

The newly formed team finished up their first big assignment this past weekend, unveiling the 2026 line-up at MCL25. Now the hard work begins, with the team saying that a primary focus moving forward will be on strengthening the brand’s rider community “and opening discussions with new dealer prospects.”
