Honda reveals new test ride scheme featuring CB1000GT, CB1000 Hornet and WN7

Honda has launched a new test ride scheme starting from August 1, which means riders could win prizes such as the all-new electric Super-N, a Miimo robotic mower, or a spot on the company’s Rapid Safety motorcycle course for yourself and one guest. 

Of these prizes, the latter is the only one that has a two-wheel connection, which was formed as part of a new partnership between Honda UK and Rapid Training. The training provider has been offering rider and safety development courses since 1997.

Rapid Training also offers both track and road courses, which are available for riders who own any motorcycle except 125cc machines and scooters. Rapid Training’s Bespoke Coaching course runs alongside all its other courses, which is a one-day course that’s priced at £545.

To enter the prize draw for a chance to win the one-day training course, customers will need to have test ridden one of Honda’s eligible models between August 1 and October 5. They will also need to purchase one of these motorcycles between the same time frame. 

The list of models eligible for test rides includes the new CB1000GT, which stood out in several ways when Visordown Editor, Toad Hancocks, tested the bike back in November. Three areas stood out in particular, including handling and the engine. The power unit is the same that’s found aboard the CB1000 Hornet, although slight tweaks mean the GT delivers its torque lower in the rev range.

For its arrival in the UK, Honda launched the CB1000GT in three colour options: Grand Prix Red, Graphite Black, and Pearl Deep Mud Gray. The new model also landed with a price of £11,999.

Like the GT, the Hornet and Hornet SP are also available as part of the eligible models included in the new test ride scheme, as is the company’s electric WN7.
